Shakespeare plays and musicals then Stratford is something you should definitely do.

This opportunity is provided for upcoming Juniors and upcoming Seniors. They head to Canada over the labor day weekend where they see the plays that they have read and done projects on over the summer.

To be involved with the class, the students have to meet up a couple of times during the summer to discuss and do a some assignments over the plays they had read during the summer. Then, eventually, they’ll have to do two papers, a project, and a final exam. Also, there is a cost to this class, which is about 415 dollars.

“You’re not doing all this work for nothing, though–you get one semester of English credit,” said Lewis Caskey, English teacher in charge of Stratford. “[But it must be added that] it can’t replace a regular English class.”

Although it can be expensive and there is work to do over the summer, it’s worth the time and money. All the things you get in return are much more than the negatives about Stratford.

It’s an awesome opportunity for students to see world-class theater and get a behind the scenes look. As a school group, we get to do stuff like backstage tours and interviewing actors and actresses that you wouldn’t be able to do if you were going up there on your own,” said Caskey.

I think anyone remotely interested in theater would really enjoy this trip,” said Danielle Horn, Junior.

Taking this class is just a great opportunity that the school provided for anyone willing to do all the requirements can educate you more. There is a diversity of people who join.

“We have everyone from actors, singers, to tech people on the trip this year,” said Horn.

Many students, like both Juniors Horn and Kayleigh McKee, who have been in the class since this summer are looking forward for their trip to Canada.

I’m most looking forward to seeing what they do with the plays and how it will be similar and different from what I imagine them to look like,” said Mckee.

“We learn and try on different costumes and get to explore a different country! I can honestly say this trip will most likely be my favorite part of this school year,” said Horn.

This trip to Canada is real fun to be able to see the country, taste their diverse food as well as people than just learning.

“My favorite part of the trip was seeing Romeo and Juliet because the acting was fresh and gave me a new perspective on the play,” said Mckee.

“My favorite part was what we did in place of that. Me and my best friend rented a paddle boat together, and road along the lake feeding swans,” said Horn.
