Our wonderful city of Goshen is home to around 33,220 lovely citizens, with more and more people joining our community each day.

Our little city was originally plotted in 1831. Since then, we’ve grown to becoming the home of Goshen College, one of this nation’s greatest private liberal arts college. Goshen College flaunts a respectable alumni, including David Bartel, a biology professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and award-winning author Sofia Samatar, who wrote the popular A Stranger in Olondria novel.

Goshen is a beautiful place to be in during any time of the year. Despite all the grumbling, winter is arguably the most pleasant time of year in Goshen. With our downtown events and friendly faces, Goshen is a wonderful home during the holiday seasons.

Connor Kulp, a senior at Goshen High School, has a personal favorite spot to visit during winter. Where else but our very own Linway Cinema?

Linway Cinema 14 is the best hotspot to meet up with friends and catch a good flick. It shows a maximum of 12 different films at a time, and it’s generously handicap-accessible. Some of the students here at Goshen High School have had their best high school memories here, and it’s unlikely that anyone who’s been to Goshen before doesn’t know about our wonderful cinema experience.

“I really love to come down and watch my favorites. Comedies, action movies, horror movies. I love to eat candy there, too,” said Kulp. “My personal favorite memory from there was my first kiss. It was pretty bad, but I’ve had practice since then. You know, just in case any ladies reading this are interested.”

Maybe the movies isn’t your cup of tea. Maybe you’d like to snuggle up from the winter’s cold with a good tale of warriors with swords and dragons.

The Goshen Public Library is open to all with a library card and an attention span this holiday season. Our library raises hundreds upon hundreds of dollars in funds each year to purchase new materials for young minds and innovators. From blood-curdling horror stories to ancient fables from a land far away, there truly is something for everyone.

“I really love to go there and draw,” said Desiray Duncan, a senior here at Goshen High School. “Ever since I first went there, I’ve always loved to come there and hang out with friends.”

Who knows? Maybe you’ll find a new best friend, or someone to smooch under the mistletoe. Be sure to check out these awesome local landmarks and more this holiday break!
